Does the world make you dizzy?

How can we follow Jesus in this cultural moment?

In May, Evangelical Alliance NI are gathering church and cultural leaders for a conversation exploring how we can think deeply, walk wisely and speak hopefully in an age of cultural climate change.

We're delighted that Mark Sayers will be leading this conversation. As a pastor and gifted cultural analyst, Mark is a leading thinker, helping us navigate the strange days that we find ourselves in.

Through teaching and roundtable discussion, the Reimagining Faith gathering will create space for us to better understand the times and discern how we can continue to enjoy life in the Spirit in a time of upheaval.

Mark Sayers is a cultural commentator, writer and speaker who is highly sought after for his unique and perceptive insights into faith and contemporary culture. Mark is the author of six books, including Facing LeviathanDisappearing Church and Strange Days. He is also the senior pastor of Red Church and co-host of the This Cultural Moment podcast with John Mark Comer. Mark lives in Melbourne, Australia with his wife Trudi and their three children.

Public Leadership Launch

Public Leadership Launch

Public Leadership is about equipping and encouraging Christians to live out the God story in a way that changes culture – by intentionally and strategically taking a lead. Public leaders are ordinary Christians who are a voice for good, serving those around them, and a voice for God, publicly following God’s calling on their life.

The Public Leadership Programme is a pioneering initiative developed by Evangelical Alliance, that both invests in younger leaders and builds a network of leaders with a passion for Northern Ireland.

Beginning in Autumn 2018, our year long programme will gather 12-15 emerging leaders in their 20s and 30s from diverse sectors, including law, the arts, media, business, politics, education, healthcare and the third sector. Over two residential experiences and monthly evening sessions, you will have the opportunity to think deeply and reimagine your leadership in the public square.

We have drawn together a bespoke programme for the course with teaching delivered by inspiring homegrown leaders. Content includes Christian character and leadership, cultural intelligence, calling, communication and competency.

On Thursday 10th May, we are hosting a Public Leadership Launch Gathering at The Mac, Belfast.

On the evening we will be sharing our heart for reimagining leadership in Northern Ireland as well as showcasing the year long programme. If you are interested in being a part of the Public Leadership Programme or want to find out how you can champion it, this is a great way to find out more.

20 20 20

We are gathering 20 people, in their 20's, 20 years after the Good Friday Agreement.

20 Years After the Good Friday Agreement

We at Evangelical Alliance are passionate about Northern Ireland. We want to see our nation flourish, and we believe that reconciliation is key to this goal. We have a messy and storied past which continues to impact our politics, our communities and how we view the world. We believe that acknowledging our past is an important part of reconciliation, however, we want to look toward a Northern Ireland that is no longer characterised by unrest, but by forgiveness and hope.

As we attempt to play a part in this, we have decided to host "20 20 20." We are gathering 20 people, in their 20's, 20 years after the Good Friday Agreement. We want to acknowledge the past whilst discussing the state of Northern Irish society.

We want to discuss the history of the Good Friday Agreement, whilst understanding how the agreement moved Northern Ireland from immense conflict to peace. We want to consider how the agreement continues to impact daily life in Northern Ireland. And we want to look to the future and how the church can speak with prophetic imagination to further this goal of reconciliation.

If you are in your 20's and are passionate about Northern Ireland, your community or reconciliation, we would love to have you join us!

This event is strictly limited to 20 people and will operate on a first come first served basis.
