Apologetics 3:15 - Always be prepared
1 Peter 3:15 commands us to always be prepared to give reasons for the faith that is in us. Apologetics is simply presenting a rational basis for faith. It seeks to answer objections brought forward and address the foundations of unbelieving thought. With the enabling presence of the Holy Spirit, believers are commanded to be ready to make an intellectual defence of the faith (1 Peter 3:15) and to help other people’s unbelief (Mk. 9:24). It is one thing to know the faith; it is another thing to live it. Often it is who you are rather than what you say that brings an unbeliever to Christ. The best Apologetics connects our words and our actions.
This series will reflect from various perspectives on how we engage with a world which is often fundamentally opposed to our Christian values, and how we can be better prepared both individually and as a Church.
